A crystal is one of the few substances in nature where the inner structure is perfectly, mathematically repeating — atoms locked into a precise lattice extending in every direction. In the alchemical sense, the crystal is matter that has already achieved coagula: it has gathered chaotic substance into perfected, stable form.
